GPSC’s new app has slashed Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) data consolidation time from three days to one day.
OutSystems, a global leader in high-performance low-code application development, has partnered with Global Power Synergy Public Company Limited (BKK: GPSC), the power generation arm of Thai state-owned, SET-listed oil and gas conglomerate PTT Public Company Limited, to deliver its first application as part of GPSC’s digitalisation efforts in achieving efficient and accurate ESG reporting.
The implementation of the new application has introduced heightened efficiency across GPSC’s workforce, subsidiaries, and affiliated companies. It also facilitates data backup, enforces access restrictions to prevent unauthorized modifications, and secures high-quality data for precise analysis.
By integrating the ability to systematically store and evaluate ESG data, along with the capability to provide succinct summary reports to both management and government stakeholders, this application achieves the following:
- Decreases the time required for consolidating data from three days to just one day.
- Cuts down the filing process time by 50 percent.
- Streamlines the data approval period to under one hour.
“The dependence on outdated legacy reporting systems remains a prevalent hurdle for numerous companies in Southeast Asia, particularly as they strive for faster time-to-market and seek to optimise employee productivity. With the expanding applications market in the region, firms must integrate innovative solutions such as low-code as part of their digitalisation journey,” said Mark Weaser, Vice President of Asia Pacific at OutSystems. “We are committed to helping companies modernize core business systems and achieve critical organizational objectives, including workforce productivity.”
“Sustainability has always been on the forefront of our company goals, so an enhanced ESG reporting system has started to be developed in 2020. With OutSystems’ intuitive infrastructure, GPSC was able to successfully transition from Excel spreadsheets for our ESG reporting, which presented difficulties for employees in terms of efficiency, data management, and standardization,” said Mr. Sirimet Leepagorn, Chief Operating Officer of GPSC. “With OutSystems as our core platform for application development, we look forward to future projects that will allow us to further enhance our digitalisation effort and increase operational efficiency, improve data quality, and drive innovation.”
