Bett, the global community for education technology, has returned to Thailand for the second time with its 7th annual Bett Asia Leadership Summit & Expo. The event, held at The Athenee Hotel in Bangkok, was co-hosted by the Ministry of Education Thailand and the Ministry of Higher Education, Science, Research, and Innovation Thailand. Over the course of two days, it featured cutting-edge education technology at the Expo, offered insights into the future of education at the Leadership Summit, and celebrated outstanding leaders in education through the Bett Asia Awards.
Bett Asia 2023 attracted participants from 5 continents, 50+ countries, making it a gathering of senior education leaders, including over 600 education buyers and numerous government representatives from regional Ministries, including Thailand, Indonesia, Brunei, Cambodia, Sri Lanka, Pakistan, and Malaysia. Under the theme ‘Transforming Minds for a Sustainable Future,’ the event, hosted for the second time in Bangkok, placed a spotlight on critical topics such as innovation, future-ready skills, sustainable development, wellbeing, diversity, and inclusion.
With a lineup of over 50 exhibitors presenting their latest technologies and services, attendees had the opportunity to experience hands-on EdTech solutions from leading global technology companies, including Microsoft, Lenovo, and Google for Education, among many others.
Bett Asia introduced two exciting initiatives at this year’s event. Bett Asia was thrilled to have launched the Bett Asia EdTech 10 list, a regional initiative that highlighted the work and success stories of women who had been transforming the EdTech landscape in Asia. Another exciting initiative for 2023 was the Bett Asia School Challenge, a Southeast Asia-wide competition for students aged 7-17, which had been created to promote big-thinking and innovative ideas on a large scale, aimed at providing solutions for schools and education issues.
The exclusive Leadership Summit, accessible by invitation only, facilitated networking opportunities among senior leaders and educators from across the Asia-Pacific region. The summit delved into key prospects for enhancing education systems and driving improved student outcomes across Asia.
In addition, Bett Asia 2023 also featured the Classroom Theatre, which showcased the latest innovations and solutions revolutionizing teaching and learning, enabling creative learning experiences to engage all students. These sessions in the Classroom Theatre not only provided training for teachers through EdTech solutions and innovations but also offered professional career development opportunities for education professionals.
Florence Dinar, Director of Bett Asia, said, “We are thrilled to have hosted Bett Asia 2023 in Thailand, where our two-day event featured the most innovative technology solutions that can enhance today’s learning experiences. We also provided opportunities for educators to stay connected, refine their teaching skills, expand their networks, and exchange ideas about EdTech with fellow attendees. I hope that Bett Asia 2023 has made a positive impact on education and will drive significant changes for future generations.”
The Bett Asia Awards, held on the first day of the event, celebrated and honored the trailblazers and innovators in EdTech across Asia. Awards included The 21st Century Learning Award, The Game Changer Award, The Trailblazer in Inclusion Award, The Wellbeing Award, and more.
