Within the event, there was a plethora of interesting information, especially updates to LINE’s product roadmap, encompassing a variety of products and services initiated by the LINE Thailand team specifically for the Thai market. Examples include various services and tools like LINE SHOPPING, MyCustomer, LINE MELODY, etc. In 2023-2024, LINE will introduce many new roadmaps and exciting updates, particularly in the API & Plug-in product group, which aims to expand API integration, allowing developers to create more tailored solutions with more convenient and efficient tools provided, such as:
- LINE SHOPPING API, which provides benefits to Thai developer developing store system on LINE SHOPPING, This API enhances the efficiency of sales management through four APIs:
- Product API: Assisting developers in creating commands for automatic product data management and updates, allowing for the addition of a large number of products to product listings.
- Inventory API: Aiding developers in establishing inventory management systems, with automatic replenishment of products on the store page when they are out of stock.
- Order API: Enabling developers to build systems for accessing detailed order information.
- Webhook Order: Empowering developers to establish automatic notification systems for order statuses to sellers or administrators. These notifications include updates on orders placed and payments made.
In the future, LINE plans to introduce new APIs like the Chat Invoice API, to empower developers in effortlessly generating payment links for LINE SHOPPING products which sellers can seamlessly distribute to customers through any social media channels, all while facilitating automatic redirection to the LINE SHOPPING transaction page.
- LINE OA Plus Plug-in Store extended from LINE OA Store concept, serving as a platform for external developers to create new solutions that can further enhance LINE OA Plus tools like MyShop, MyCustomer, and MyRestaurant. It offers a centralized presentation to marketers and brands seeking specialized solutions.
- New Messaging API enhances the efficiency of messaging API usage on LINE, expanding development possibilities for Thai developers. For example:
- Audience Created for Step Messages: allows Thai developers to utilize target audience data obtained through the use of the Messaging API, as a target group for sending messages via Step Messages feature on LINE OA.
- Quote Messages: enables both users and bots to send messages by quoting or referring to previous messages within the chat room.
- Rich Menu Link/Unlink Batch: offers convenience to Thai developers by allowing them to change Personalized Rich Menu in LINE OA, reflecting a larger target audience with a single set of commands.
- Updates to New Features for Creating Flex Messages: Developers can now customize Flex Messages to a greater extent, including expanding the size of message bubbles and allowing developers to issue a set of commands to display text and icons size according to user individual’s settings in the LINE app.
Additionally, LINE introduced a new service called LON or LINE Official Notification, which delivers notifications to target users via phone numbers through LINE OA. This service enhances communication efficiency between brands or organizations and their customers while reducing spam messages. With a variety of notification message formats, Thai developers have more opportunities to create innovative notification solutions to reach their target audience effectively.
