Huawei Technologies (Thailand) Co., Ltd. has announced the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Nakhon Phanom University (NPU) in line with Huawei’s global initiative to nurture new talents in the ICT sector, and to help educational institutions nationwide in their digital transformation.
As a strategic alliance between the ICT industry and the education sector, the MoU was signed during a ceremony held in Nakhon Phanom on March 6, 2022, by Dr. Promsawat Thipkongka, Acting President of Nakhon Phanom University, and Mr. Justin Fan, Senior Vice President of Solution sales and Marketing, Enterprise Business Group, Huawei Technology (Thailand) Co., Ltd., in the presence of Professor Dr. Krasae Chanawong, President of Nakhon Phanom University Council, and other senior university officials.
Under the terms of the MoU, Huawei will provide NPU with consultancy and support services, knowledge and expertise, quality curriculum and teaching materials that can help teachers foster the development of digital skills to students. Using innovative technologies such as Big Data and Cloud services, Huawei will help transform NPU into a smart university that can improve operations efficiency, enhance online learning and help students transition to the workforce with the industry-ready skillsets. In collaboration with Huawei ICT Academy and ICT Talent Alliance, NPU students will have practical training from Huawei ICT Academy trainers, and earn a Huawei Certification that can jumpstart their career. Students will also be encouraged to participate in activities such as the Huawei ICT Competition and the Huawei ICT Job Fair.
Over the past years, Huawei has been proactively signing a series of MoUs with top universities and colleges to help build a strong talent ecosystem and to expand the benefits of digital technology nationwide. Nakhon Phanom University (NPU) is joining top educational institutions that have successful partnerships with Huawei. Huawei’s objective is to help students broaden their ICT knowledge, stimulate their interest in learning and innovation capabilities, and improve their self-learning and problem-solving abilities.
