RPI AI Lab, Databricks, and AWS Host Successful “Gen AI Payoff in 2025” Event in Bangkok

RPI AI Lab, in collaboration with Databricks and AWS, hosted the “Gen AI Payoff in 2025” Executive Meetup on February 28, 2025, in Bangkok. The event focused on helping businesses transition from experimenting with Generative AI (GenAI) to realising tangible business value.

The meetup addressed key aspects of AI adoption in Thailand and the broader ASEAN region, highlighting that over 80% of enterprises in ASEAN consider GenAI critical for their long-term business strategies, according to Databricks research. Speakers also addressed the challenges, noting that 85% of AI projects fail to move beyond the experimentation phase due to data fragmentation, privacy concerns, and a lack of scalable infrastructure.

Attendees gained insights into real-world GenAI use cases, with featured case studies showcasing applications in fraud detection, customer service automation, predictive analytics, and personalised AI-driven solutions. A highlight of the event was the announcement of a $25,000 enterprise AI implementation package, co-sponsored by AWS and Databricks, aimed at accelerating AI adoption among select businesses in Thailand.

Dan Nawchoo, Founder of RPI AI Lab, emphasised the importance of the event, stating, “This event showed the pivotal role of GenAI in Thailand’s digital economy. By collaborating with AWS and Databricks, we are accelerating AI adoption and empowering businesses to achieve potentially significant ROI.”

Patrick Kelly, Senior Director of Sales at Databricks, added, “The ‘Gen AI Payoff in 2025’ event demonstrated how Thai businesses can move beyond AI trials to achieve tangible business outcomes. Databricks is committed to providing the tools and infrastructure necessary for production-quality AI applications that are accurate, safe, and reliable.”

The event featured presentations and discussions from industry experts, including Santipha Satthaporn, Solutions Architect at AWS; Toss Chumchoosaksri, Account Executive at Databricks; Chatchai Komrangded, Senior Solutions Architect Manager at AWS; Tharathip Kulchotirat, Senior AI Team Lead at RPI AI Lab; and Nattapol Thamsangwarl, Chief Executive Officer at GoDigit.
