The Commercial Drones or unmanned arial vehicles (UAVs) industry was valued at USD 20.8 billion in 2021 and is expected to reach USD 1,205 billion by 2030, growing at a CAGR of 57%*. The exponential growth of commercial drones is due to their superior flight speed, durability, strength and precision resulting in growing applications in agriculture, energy, construction, logistics and warehouse, movie production and imaging, sports and recreation, environment, security and disaster relief, search and rescue. With the rising opportunities across the world and in Asia, GML Exhibition, the Global Marketing Link that connects people in different industries, announces the launch of DronTech Asia 2024 to take place November 25 – 27 at the IMPACT Exhibition and Convention Center in Muang Thong Thani, Thailand.
Mr. Manu Leopairote, Chairman of GML Exhibition (Thailand) Co., Ltd., the organizer of DronTech Asia, notes that drone usage is increasingly significant in various industries as it helps reduce human labor and increases trade advantages i.e. checking inventory in warehouses, watering plants and adding fertilizer, and taking bird’s eye view photos and videos. Since the drone industry is remarkably growing, the company sees a lot of opportunity to support such growth.
DroneTech Asia 2024 is supported by many leading organizations, including the Civil Aviation Authority of Thailand (CAAT), the Digital Economy Promotion Agency (DEPA), the Defence Technology Institute (DTI), Thailand Convention and Exhibition Bureau (TCEB), the Drone Association of Thailand (DAT) and many other more government organizations. DronTech Asia 2024 will showcase the capability, benefits, and Southeast Asia’s rapidly growing leadership in this industry. DronTech Asia 2024 will create new opportunities for local and international drone related companies to meet more end users, system integrators, customers and business influencers.
Dr. Preesan Rakwatin. Executive Vice President (Digital Transformation Promotion Unit), Digital Economy Promotion Agency (DEPA), notes as part of the drone technology and industry promotion, the One Tambon One Digital (Drone Jai) project focuses on promoting nationwide farmers’ knowledge, understanding and skills required for operating and maintaining drones for the agricultural sector. DEPA also supports the industry transformation towards utilizing advanced drones with higher capabilities to provide maintenance services, spraying, and distribution. It is expected that in one year after the project is launched, there will be 50 drone maintenance service centers nationwide. This will encourage villagers in approximately 500 different communities to adopt more drone technologies in the agricultural sector, which is expected generate no less than 350 million baht in economic value. The project will support the government’s plan to upgrade national digital capability to enhance competitiveness for the country.
Mr. Chatchai Puntragul, CAAT’s Manager of Unmanned Aircraft Standards Department (UAS), notes that the issues needed to be urgently addressed are regulatory related matters in order to support future use of drones. These issues include certifying different uses of drones, such as BVLOS, medium sized drones, registration, certification of different types of drone pilot training centers, and drone pilot licensing (basic and advanced levels).
DronTech Asia 2024 is designed to showcase how drones are used in different industries, e.g. agriculture, energy, construction, energy, oil and gas, and security. The event will also feature an international conference about drones, presentations from various organizations, a technology competition, live drone demonstrations by technology manufacturers, software and hardware developers, importers, distributors, anti-drone technology developers, experts in drone traffic management, and users in different industries.
The event is expected to attract drone end users and purchasing decision makers from industries such as agriculture, construction, energy, public safety, media and entertainment, as well as investors and venture capitalists, researchers and academics, and drone advocates and enthusiasts.
DronTech Asia 2024 will be held from 25 – 27 November 2024 from 10:00 – 18:00 hrs. at Hall 12, IMPACT, Muang Thong Thani. For more information visit: dronetechasia.com
