Huawei ASEAN Academy today hosted an online workshop entitled “Technology Seeker vs Competence Development Workshop,” in cooperation with the Eastern Economic Corridor Office (EECO) and Burapha University. The aim of the event was to share Huawei’s breakthrough technologies to accompany the digitalization of the industrial sector; and to consolidate knowledge and information for the creation of demand-driven training courses that could help enhance the skills of ICT talent to support targeted industries in the EEC.
Jointly opened by Dr. Kanit Sangsubhan, Secretary General of EECO, and Mr. Abel Deng, CEO of Huawei Thailand, the online seminar gathered top executives and entrepreneurs from EEC-based companies, SMEs and startups who are interested in technology adoption in industries that will foster economic growth and the country’s competitiveness. During the event, Huawei experts explained the latest technologies such as 5G, Cloud, Big Data, and IoT, and how they can enhance businesses and factories through innovative technologies, while maximizing opportunities in a connected setup. They also shed light on innovative ways to promote knowledge transfer on the operational and managerial levels.
The online workshop was also the perfect opportunity to gather effective feedback from participants to get a better understanding of the challenges, requirements and needs encountered by players in the EEC’s industrial scene. This information will be used to tailor future courses and programs offered by the Huawei ASEAN Academy that can prepare and empower businesses to move toward Industry 4.0.
“I believe that opportunities and successes won’t happen if you don’t create them,” commented Dr. Kanit Sangsubhan, Secretary General of EECO. “Through our joint efforts, Huawei ASEAN Academy (Thailand) EEC branch will create opportunities to develop digital skills not just to fill jobs, but to achieve results that will ensure success. With more and more users of 5G technology in the manufacturing sector, we hope to increase the number of factories in the EEC to 8,000 in the near future. This will be an important step towards sustainable development and the drive to Industry 4.0.
